Forest Reserves

Since the entry into force of the Kyoto Protocol in 2005 and the Paris agreement of 2015 and of which Paraguay is a signatory country, the goal of reducing the emission of greenhouse gases has motivated the search for alternatives that will contribute to fulfill the objective.

From this problem that several concepts and actions that lead to improve the quality of the environment and the reduction of greenhouse gases, concepts such as Credits or Carbon Bonds, Environmental Services together with the Non-deforestation Environmental Policy, emerged as environmental practices in terms of compensation.

DAP has monitored forest reserves complying not only with the National Legal Regulations to maintain 25% of its forests according to Law 422/73, in addition to this it has registered and certified by the Ministry of Environment an area of more than 1500 hectares under the Denomination of Environmental Services. It is in this way that the company, assuming its environmental responsibility and through its forest reserves in all the Farms in which it operates, maintains its regional and global commitment to the protection of the environment and the reduction of greenhouse gases.

 Conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and natural resources

For the DAP Group, conservation, environmental protection is as fundamental and important as production, hence the following points are part of the Environmental Management;

  • Protection and conservation of biodiversity - Biodiversity Monitoring.
  • Efficient use of energy - Monitoring of the Use of Electric Power and Fossil Fuels.

  • Efficient use of water resources - Monitoring the quality of surface and underground water resources.
  • Environmentally safe disposal of solid waste generated.
